Do lazy people become lazier from cannabis? Or does cannabis inspire you to great ideas or conclusions that solve problems for you? Do you manage your time wisely, or struggle constantly? Is most of it built into you from childhood?

If a cluttered desk is a sign of a cluttered mind, of what, then, is an empty desk a sign?” Albert Einstein

Who doesn’t wish they had a little more time each day for things we need to accomplish. The world is chaotic, and there is little time for anything. People’s attention spans are around 13 seconds. Here’s a thought to ponder: time management.

The matrix divides tasks into four categories based on two criteria:

– Importance – Is this task important or unimportant?

– Urgency – Is this task urgent or not urgent?

This creates four quadrants:

1. Always Important + Urgent

– Do first – These are critical and time-sensitive tasks that require your immediate attention. Examples: deadlines, crises, emergency meetings.

2. Always Important + Not Urgent

– Schedule – These tasks are important but don’t require your immediate attention. Schedule time to focus on these regularly. Examples: planning, relationship building, preventative healthcare.

3. Not Important + Urgent

– Delegate – Tasks that demand attention but aren’t aligned with your priorities. See if you can delegate them to someone else. Examples: some emails, meetings, other people’s minor issues.

4. Not Important + Not Urgent

– Delete/defer – These tasks don’t contribute much value and can likely be eliminated or postponed. Examples: busywork tasks, some emails, excessive meetings.

Key benefits of the Eisenhower Matrix:

– Helps distinguish between urgent and important tasks.

– Encourages focusing energy on high-value activities.

– Provides a structured decision-making process for prioritization.

– Improves productivity by eliminating or reducing low-value tasks.

The matrix is simple but profound, and can be applied to cannabis so easily. I’m always trying to get the most out of my time, the best results, and the maximum benefit from whatever I am applying myself to. If you live your life in the “Always Important / Never Urgent” quadrant, you will have more time, less stress, and possibly a better quality of life over time.
